Woolloongabba tower to give buyers a taste of the big apple…

By Holly Sprott

A new boutique-style development announced for Woolloongabba will give buyers a taste of the Big Apple with a New York inspired ground floor.

EPV Development’s $60 million 10-storey apartment tower, The Wellington, was inspired by New York’s Chelsea Markets, and will feature 127 one- and two-bedroom apartments on the doorstep of the Gabba sporting ground.

A key feature of the tower will be the ground floor’s mix of shops, cafes and restaurants in the heart of Woolloongabba’s cafe precinct.

EPV Development’s director Denis MacKenzie said Woolloongabba was chosen due to its lifestyle benefits and buyers having everything on their doorstep.

“The Wellington’s premium residential apartments will be situated above a vibrant boutique retail and dining precinct, where residents can pick up a quality coffee from their friendly barista before heading out to enjoy their day,” he said.

“Residents can also enjoy a variety of luxurious recreational facilities including a rooftop pool and entertaining area.”

Total Property Group managing director Adrian Parsons said the Wellington is appealing to both investors and owner occupiers due to its location.

“East Brisbane is a high growth area experiencing increasing and ongoing demand from buyers,” he said.

“The population of the East Brisbane and Woolloongabba area has increased by an average growth rate of 2.9 per cent over the past 10 years, which is significantly higher than the average population growth rate across Brisbane City as a whole of 1.9 per cent during the same period.”

The tower will be located on the corner of Wellington Road and Overend Street, Woolloongabba with apartments starting from $354,000 for one-bedroom apartments and $470,000 for two bedrooms.
