According to the findings of the Mortgage Choice's 2013 Homeowner Intentions Survey, more than one quarter (26 per cent) of Australian homeowners are considering buying an investment property.
Of those intent on investing in property, 56 per cent indicated that their intentions were within the next two years.
The survey covered over 1,000 mortgage holders in Australia, with the findings indicating that confidence is returning to the market and, combined with low interest rates, more people are considering making property investments.
The top sought after aspect of an investment home focused on tenant demand, with 66 per cent of respondents claiming that in their top five.
Following that was location, with 65 per cent of saying that the street and suburb played a big part in their investment decisions.
