Aussies are sport fanatics by nature. It doesn’t take a lot to get us excited – just throw a round object on the pitch, have a few players fight over it, and you’re sure to get an enthusiastic crowd going. So when a real sporting event takes Australia by storm, things tend to get pretty crazy.
With the World Cup currently taking place in Brazil, Australians, including residents in Bulimba, Hawthorne and Morningside real estate are losing their sporting minds. House parties and gatherings are taking place all over Brisbane, and families are sitting down every night to watch the highlights they might’ve missed due to school or work.
And luckily, the city of Brisbane is providing these soccer-mad residents with even more help to satisfy their hunger for the beautiful game and all things related. On select dates, King George Square is turning into the city’s soccer-central, where all residents can come together to cheer their favourite teams and players, and boo their least favourite refereeing decisions.
If you have some Bulimba real estate but have already missed some of the games, fear not – you’ll still be able to catch the two semi finals, third place play off and the final on 9, 10, 13 and 14 July, respectively.
Not only that, but you’ll be treated to a helping of Brazilian dance, music, a food van and capoeira performances. How can you say no?
