Embrace Your Green Thumb In Bulimba

By Adrienne McTavish

One of the things that makes living in Brisbane – and particularly Bulimba real estate – so popular is its brilliant year-round climate.

With plenty of sunny days and lots of green space, there's no better place to develop your gardening skills – and an upcoming workshop is designed with exactly this in mind.

Saturday May 18 is World Fascination of Plants Day, and Brisbane City Council is encouraging locals to get into the spirit with several flora-themed events hosted at venues around the city, including the Brisbane Botanic Gardens Mt Coot-tha and the City Botanic Gardens.

These venues will host free discovery tours next month in honour of the global event (at 11:00 and 13:00 in both locations), while the Brisbane Botanic Gardens will also host a free drop-in activity with its 2013 artist in residence, Donna Davis, at the Bandstand Stage from 11:00 until 14:00.

Whether you want to get to know your neighbours a little better in a beautiful outdoor setting or you are simply keen to search for a bit of extra inspiration for your own garden in Bulimba, you won't want to miss any of the fun!
