Church playgroup gives Bulimba parents helping hand

When you’re a busy parent, you have to learn how to juggle a million things at once. But no matter how good you get at it, it can still be a Herculean effort to find fun activities for your kids, as well as somewhere you can leave the really young ones to get taken care of.

Owners of Bulimba real estate don’t have that same problem. Thanks to Bulimba Uniting Church’s Kids Uniting Playgroup, parents have an easy choice for what to do with their kids four mornings a week.

From Monday to Friday (excluding Thursday), between 9 and 11 a.m., the playgroup opens its doors to eager parents and kids aged five years or younger. The group, whose goal “is to create and nurture a place of support where you are made to feel welcome, safe and respected”, according to the church’s website, runs, among other things, art and craft sessions, story time and Playdough games.

It’s also a great place for parents to meet friends over a coffee.

Since last year, the program has seen a number of upgrades, such as a renovation of its toilets, the addition of safety gates and drawing up of more efficient parking spaces.

Community facilities like this are why parents are increasingly thinking about houses for sale in Bulimba.
