Bulimba Library provides hub for local community

Knowing there are many great facilities on your doorstep is a great advantage when looking at houses for sale in Bulimba.

Whether you’ve got kids and need a decent local school close by or are at retirement age and want to get involved in your community, these are all factors to take into consideration.

This is why Bulimba Library is such an important resource for residents of the suburb and there is plenty of support for upgrades to be made to the site.

Speaking to the Courier Mail, Morningside ward councillor Shayne Sutton revealed more than 500 people have signed a petition for $2 million of work to be carried out.

“Like many locals, I love the Bulimba Library but it’s time to consider its future and how we make sure it continues to be a facility that services the needs of local residents in the coming years,” he commented.

The petition outlines how the facility has served the local community for the past 30 years, but several upgrades will need to be made to ensure it can continue to serve this purpose.

Among the areas residents want to see changed are the construction of a new covered community space, as well as greater consideration to its internal and external functionality.
