Those that wish to call Bulimba real estate home will know that the suburb is a desirable place to buy into for many reasons, one of which is the proximity to the Brisbane CBD.
Fortunately for current residents and those looking to move into the luxurious suburb, the Bulimba ferry terminal has recently been upgraded.
The improvements to the facility which serves over 8000 passengers a week, making it Brisbane's busiest terminal, include features that increase ease-of-use, as well as safety and accessibility, according to the Brisbane City Council.
Improved disabled access as well as a new dual-berth pontoon will make the service more efficient for daily commuters. Those that are waiting for their ride will be happy to hear that seating has been provided for an additional 30 people.
The overall functionality of the area has been increased with an improved drop-off area, overnight berthing for ferries and a significant increase in flood resilience. The City has taken care to preserve the State Heritage profile of the structure.
If you're looking at real estate in Hawthorne, you'll be pleased to know that works have commenced on the local terminal there too. According to Lord Mayor Graham Quirk, Bretts Wharf and Hawthorne both started their terminal upgrades on 15 December, with other suburbs to follow.
