Bulimba and its surrounding areas – Hawthorne, Morningside, Balmoral – are all wonderful areas. We don’t have to tell you that. If you’ve looked around for houses east of the river, then you’ve probably noticed that these areas are the picture of the suburban ideal. In fact, the only concern you might’ve had is the fact that you might not be able to find a house here!
If recent news is anything to go by, however, this needn’t be a worry any longer. The construction industry in Brisbane is booming, which means there could be plenty of houses for sale in Bulimba and surrounding areas popping up soon.
According to Queensland Premier Campbell Newman in a 14 August release, the overall Queensland construction sector employs around 223,000 people, partly thanks to initiatives like the Great Start Grant. The grant provides $15,000 to any first time buyer looking to buy or build their first house, unit or townhouse, as long as it’s valued less than $750,000.
Master Builders Executive Director Grant Galvin also noted in the same release that total building approvals in the state had rocketed up by 25 per cent over the last year.
It seems you shouldn’t have any trouble finding available Bulimba real estate in the next little while.
