By living in real estate in Bulimba, we already know that we're lucky. We're blessed with luscious parks and gorgeous riverside banks, but we can't take these things for granted.
The Brisbane City Council has said that car travel accounts for 11 per cent of emissions from an average citizen. While you may think that this is a relatively low number, it's a figure that can be even lower. The Brisbane City Council has offered some tips to make your travel more green and we think the best is to embrace walking.
Why walking?
We know that it can be a huge drag to get out of the bed in the morning, why would you want to do that even earlier to walk to work? Bulimba is blessed with great walking trails that you should take advantage of. A particular highlight is the Bulimba Heritage Trail. Take your route down Oxford Street and see historic sites like Yellowley's Newsagency and the Bulimba Hotel.
It doesn't just have to be to work, instead of driving, take your family on a stroll to the shops and soak in the historical richness of our beautiful suburb and get some good exercise while doing it.
